    Default Car Safety for Dogs

Okay, I haven't watched the videos because I"m at work, but this article is slightly scary. I got it in an email from Whole Dog Journal. I always thought that having your dog in a crate in the car was the safest way! But maybe not. . .

Good info. I recently read an article on safe crates to ship a pet in, by air. There aren't many! I'm not surprised about that article.

I'm guilty of having the dogs loose in the back seat...now thinking maybe not as bad as I thought! Very scary!!

I know. I'm that same. I usually take the truck if I'm taking dogs and we have the back seats down so there's a flat area back there for them. I don't feel so guilty about doing that now.

This is from last year and yes I checked it out. It is something to think about.

For me, I still prefer not to have a dog loose in my van when driving. I no longer use the booster seats however. I have an rectangular size crate sitting on the vans middle seat that is wedged between the front and seat back and the middle seat back. It has ans ice chest on the floor to make it level. A few weeks ago I had a minor incident and the crate (no dog) never moved.

You just need to find out what is best for you.
