    Default My Cassie

Cassie passed in my arms peacefully today after an episode of pneumonia that wasn't responding to treatment. I told her she would be able to run and play, but she needed to stay in my heart, because that's where she's always been. I know she is still with me and always will be. She was my sunshine and made me laugh every day of her life, and I was so blessed to be her mom.

I think she's telling me her first stop is to go annoy Pogo for a bit, since it's been awhile since he's been pestered by a small spotted dog...

    Thanks for understanding.

Kim, I am so sorry for your loss. Cassie was such a special little girl, my heart truly aches for you.

And....I'm crying again. Cassie can go and poke Pogo with her little nose. He put up with Pixel for 14, he is used to small spotted vocal dogs. I know he will love her.

Sending my love to you, K and little Angel. Hugs, my friend.

Run free, little Cassie. You were loved by many and the world isn't as bright without you.

Oh Kim, I'm so very very sorry to hear this. Especially today of all days. She chose to leave on the wings of Irma...pretty impressive way to fly across the bridge. Holding you close in my heart right now. Godspeed, sweetie, yup, go see Pogo and have a "chat". Just gone ahead.... for the Cassie shaped hole in your hearts. And a special one for Angel, who I'm guessing is missing her sister a lot. And please stay safe.....

I'm so sorry, Kim. The world will definitely be a bit dimmer with one less little spotted dog in it.

Yes, leave it to my girl to go out with a hurricane!
Angel is always a little anxious, and she is confused by all the storm prep and people coming and going. I have to go in to work tomorrow until the storm has passed, and Mom will be over with her dog. So she's probably going to freak out. We will make it, though. Grateful she is still here (18 months post lymphoma diagnosis).
