    Default Why, Savannah? WHY?

Why does she sometimes hork up her breakfast? It's rare, but as I'm off we got up, potties, ate breakfast then went back to bed... because as you all know, dachshunds can tell time. Mealtime is promptly on the sixes here, am and pm.

Noting gets a dogmom moving faster than horsing sounds IN THE BIG BED, and I got her out and on the floor before she expelled breakfast in three small neat piles. Ugh.

Then of course she wanted to kiss me. Um, NO.

SEEMS FINE NOW - maybe she just ate too fast.

Ferk will do that sometimes too...usually if I give her a tad too much food, esp in the morning. I think maybe her innards haven't entirely woken up yet. And eating too fast can certainly do it! (Not that that's a factor with Ferk LOL...15-20 minutes with Heidi the hungry shark circling..... )

Savannah Hoovers her food. To the point that I’m thinking of getting one of those bowls that slows them down. This morning was quite icky!

Scooter hoovers his food, too. Sometimes I don't think he's sure what he ate. He's also my empty tummy barfer. Does Savannah only hork up her food in the morning?

That bowl might be a good idea!

I used to turn a small upside down in Alex's food dish...it made her slow right down.

Yes, only in the mornings, and she lost ALL of her breakfast again this morning. It was scary - she was throwing up big globs of undigested kibble and tummy contents, and I was worried she couldn't breathe.

After it was over, she was her normal tail-waggy self.

Paula - just a regular smaller sized bowl? I need to give this a try - this morning was icky and scary, and I know her needs her Brekkie!

We have to add a bit of water to Pepsi's. Otherwise he eats too fast and pukes. He still eats fast, but the water seems to help.

Good idea, Lisa. I did that for Duchess when she started losing teeth. I tried Paula’s trick of turning a bowl upside down in her food bowl, and she was only able to get 1-2 kibbles at a time. They’re very small, and she’s held that down fine for the moment. But oh the LOOK on her face! What you DOIN, mama?
