I sometimes wonder if their sense of smell starts to go and that's part of why they lose interest in food? Kind of like us when we have a cold. I found that adding chicken stock (not broth) helped with Ferk, cuz she could really smell it. Might that work, Olga? Also weird about the SQ fluids! Sending a ton more

Sofie is still doing ok. I got more canned food to feed her. She likes it better. Didn't water down the kibble today and she actually ate it all. Maybe she prefers crunch. I need to look into cooking for her. I am afraid I'd end up giving her too much protein. It is tough on kidneys .

Sebastian has been sleeping either in the same bed with her or else most of the time on the floor next to her bed. I do have 2 beds in the living room. Not sure what this is about.

Update: she is still acting ok and eating her food. Her labs are slightly worse from a month ago. I am still giving her subq fluids twice a week, which I hate doing. I am not able to switch her to k/d diet at this point because k/d is quite high in fat (25-26%). It can make her pancreatitis worse. So, just going to keep her on g/d for now.

My mom is in a similar situation with her almost 13 y/o cocker spaniel. Maybe pancreatitis... maybe kidney disease (maybe caused by the food he was on to prevent bladder stones)... maybe Cushing's. Oh, and hypothyroidism. He's on I/D lowfat now. At least he likes it.

It has been 2.5 months since Sofie went into kidney failure. I thought I would post an update. She is still going strong. I am still doing subq fluids twice a week. Now she hides from me when the steamer/IV pole comes out. I plan to take her back in July for recheck.
