    Default Coat Color Question

We've had Darby for almost 4 years now. He has always been very black and shiny. I noticed a few months ago that while his coat is still shiny and healthy looking, it's starting to turn brown! It's sort of like it's bleaching out. He's outside a fair amount but no longer than he has been for the last 3 summers so I'm not sure what is causing this. It's just really weird and I've never had a dog do this before. He's almost starting to look brindle.

It happened to both Wen and Heidi. It may be a sign of early Cushings...in Heidi's case her winter coat didn't shed out but stopped growing and eventually turned brown. Serious brushing required!

Wow! That is strange, Paula. Thanks for letting me know. I'll watch for other signs of Cushings.

With her I've noticed the heat intolerance and drinking symptoms especially. But at her age i haven't done anything to treat it. Not much point and the drugs are apparently hard on their little bodies.
