Default Heidi could use some rayz

I don't know if anyone is even around here anymore but if there is, Heidi could really use some rayz. She's pretty much stopped eating, and isn't happy, I suspect her pancreatitis is flaring up big time, but don't know if we can get her back this time. I have an appt to see Barry tomorrow at 1030. So fingers crossed.....

Lots of rayz. Pixel can totally empathize. What did Barry say?

We live to not eat another day!! Not how I was planning to spend the first truly warm, sunny day we've has this year...8 days post gall bladder surgery! A 2 hour drive to my vet and then 2 hours back home. However, ya do what ya gotta do.

Barry did a pretty full workup...in the end, it's the beginning of kidney failure, and her heart is really enlarged, but no sign of CHF or COPD, thank goodness! Her bloods aren't too bad all thing considered. But the pancreas test definitely came back abnormal, so he's sent it away to get the numbers so we know by how much. Came home with gabapentin and prednisone, and a few cans of the low fat meat to see if she's a bit more convinced about eating that instead of the kibble. Steroids aren't usually indicated with bad kidneys etc, but we're at the quality of life part...at 16, we've already had the quantity!

So we'll see how she does with this. I'm back in the city most of the week after next for a conference and they stay at Barry's during the day while I'm there so he can keep an eye on her. And we're testing Bussy for Cushings then too. No doubt in either of our minds he's got it. Old sick dogs indeed.

However, I was pretty convinced last night this was it and am very, very grateful that I was wrong.
