Default Darby Dog, the Great Hunter

Last night we were upstairs in the den watching TV. Both of us were on our laptops. I hear Jim say "Uh, oh!" I look up and Darby has just come to the top of the stairs with what I thought was a stuffy. It was NOT a stuffie. I was a newly dead (or almost dead) squirrel. In my house. On my carpet. Yuck! So Jim got recruited in his capacity as dead critter disposer to take the body out to the trash. Poor Darby was sooooo disappointed. He was like "Where's my trophy?" We had to distract them with some Blue Bell cups but they both still kept looking for the squirrel. I'm hoping we dont' have a repeat today

Yet another reason why seniors rock...much less tendency to kill things (not to mention not being able to move fast enough to catch 'em ). I need a Jim for icky occasions like that....

He's definitely good for dead critter removal

Darby and Blue looked for the squirrel off and on the rest of the evening like they were sure it there somewhere . . .

I love squirrels so this makes me very sad. He is a mighty hunter though. Making his ancestors very happy indeed.

    Bonus points to Jim!
