I'm so glad that you decided to rescue! :cheer2: I would try the links that Loren provided. If you don't find anything there, perhaps some of our members in the NE would know about some local rescues. You might also check on the internet. Do a search for dachshund rescue in your area. Some local shelters post on petfinder.com, but not all. Check your local SPCA or city or county shelter.

My first Dachshund as an adult was a rescue - Oscar. I then tried fostering - failed miserably and added Sam to the herd!!! Oscar was about 6 months old - Sam was about 4 months. You won't regret rescue!

for considering a rescue Dachshund. Here are a couple of more sites for you to check out. I would look often as they are all breed rescue and possibly a little Doxie might show up. Good luck.

They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon

Try www.c2cdr.org. I got Molly from that rescue group 3 weeks ago and she is the greatest little girl on the planet!
