I'm happy to report the co-defendant was sentenced to a year in prison. :cheer2: I wished it could have been more for both of them.

They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon

A shame she's not serving the conspiracy sentence. I hope she has a rotten time in prison.
But yes, its good she's serving time. Animal Cruelty laws just don't provide for enough penalties. :(
:party1: I hope it's the worst year of her life!!!!! :party1:
Karen - Proud Hoomom to Bella "Snooter" Boo & The Professor Buster Brown
The story itself is heartbreaking. The picture of that poor baby makes it even more so. The defendants should be glad the jail time received wasn't longer.
Kelli (Hoomom to Bella & Cooper)
"If that’s cruelty, than every slaughterhouse in America should be closed," he said.
The idiot who said this should be slapped right up side his head with something large and hard. How can you compare the two things? We allow deer hunting, but we don't allow seasons on pets. How incredibly stupid!
and death to an animal in a slaughterhouse could not be any more painful than what that little dog had to go through. Also, many people who end up becoming murderers started with cruelty to animals. These women are dangerous. I hope the publicity makes their lives as miserable as they deserve. :(
