SURE! It's a wonderful place to see MANY of your fellow doxie lovers as well as any size, shape, color & coat of doxie you've ever imagined! There are costume contests, a parade, a group picture, etc. The CCDR group will be in charge of food sales this year, so hot dogs, chips, baked goods, etc. Typically there are a variety of vendors, including dachshund delites on site. Bring a lawn chair, as you will walk quite a bit & the day can be sort of long. Bring a camera....you won't want to miss all the great shots! And be prepared for it to be HOT & STICKY! This is Ohio after all....and that's JULY!

OH...AND...some of us are a little wild & crazy! The after picnic parties at the restaurants can be a little loud & rowdy! LOL Right Lisa?

Anything else you wonder about? let me know!

Bring lots of money to spend on you puppers.

The NEOD people sponsor a lot of neat raffles. As a coursity to NEOD for putting on the event and not to interfer with the "unwritten" policy for the event DRNA does not do a raffle however we will have a nice booth with a lot of goodies to sell.

April and Doxie Delights is always there.

They also have doggy game and events but I am always too busy with visiting etc., to particapete.

Bring a lawn umbrella if you have one, a hat and sunscreen.

If you are brining a pupper a x-pen is a necessity.

It is my favorite picnic and I always have a great time.

Is it a good idea to bring a cooler for water for the puppers or will we be able to get that? I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on water!! Also, does anyone have any websites to get x-pens at a decent price??

Becca DO NOT buy an x-pen, I have one and Janet has one and they make a huge x-pen, you can just put Buddy in there when he is not out and about with you! If others have an x-pen, if they want they can join it with ours as well and we can have a gigantic one. Especially since you are just bringing one dog, you do not need one. They are great because you are not constantly detangling leashes - but for one dog they certainly are not manditory.

We always brings tons of water & treats, but yes water is a great idea.....plus I am thinking some of us might be slightly dehydrated on Saturday as well

I was thinking more along the lines of Snooter/Prof (whichever one Goob is bringing today ) and Bailey and Buddy....To be honest, I've never even seen an x-pen other than in pictures so I don't really even know how big they are. I had been thinking about getting one for the puppers to play outside in anways...I figured w/ all of us that are going to be there, an extra one wouldn't hurt but if other people have them, I'll let it go...Thanks Lisa!! Now, about that cooler??

I think the more xpens we have the better. That way the dogs have room to move around and play rather than just standing there. We will have quite a few dogs there and they might be squished in with only 2-3 xpens joined. We will be bringing ours.

Becca- If you wanted to get one anyway, I recommend bringing one. However, I wouldn't buy one just to use for the picnic.
