Yeah, I'd like an answer for that, too. Mr. Butters constantly knocks stuff down then waits for me to pick up after him!

Just like a little kid, pushes toys off their high chair or table so they can watch you pick them up. Good game, your well trained.
They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon

Buddy does that too and then looks at me like "Mudder, now why did YOU do dat" He's got me trained too....:conf3:

Gigi does that too, she brings a toy and sit on my lap and pushes it on the ground. She then looks at the toy and bark (not all the time)... then she jumps off, picks it up and the process start all over again.
Looks like We ALL have been Trained by our Doxie's!
We should at least be awarded ribbons!
Which makes you wonder Do the dogs train us faster than we train them? Hmmmmmm
OH Yea I have this problem too ans all i get is gruef from hubby who says she is too spoiled! LOL well Apollo our Sheltie is too but he doesn't knock stuff off cuzzzzzzz he doesn't lap sit like Ilsa does.
Right now she is balancing on my lap as I type!
Angel is such an impractical dog. She will perch on the arm of the couch and hold a bone over the edge with her paws to chew and then look surprised when it falls. To her credit, she will jump down on her own to pick it up (weird game  ) and not expect me to... but I often do, or I just hold it for her in the first place since they do enough jumping as it is.

His variation of this game is this.
I put him up on the bed,
I give him his toy, chewie, bone or what ever.
He chews or plays for around two minutes,
He pushes it off,
He stares at it for a bit,
He jumps down to retrieve it,
He than cry's for me to pick him (and the item) back up.
REPEAT OVER AND OVER AGAIN

Buddy played a new variation of the game tonight for almost an hour straight...
Get bobo.
Jump up on bed.
Chew on bobo.
Nose bobo onto floor.
Jump off bed.
Get bobo.
Jump up on bed.
Chew on bobo.
Nose bobo onto floor.
Jump off bed.
Get bobo.
Jump up on bed.
Chew on bobo.
Nose bobo onto floor.
Jump off bed.
I think you get the point. And I'm not kidding, this went on for almost a complete hour. Every time Heidi and I would just nod off for our nap, he'd start it all over!!
